AMWA functions at the local,
national and international level to advance women in medicine and
improve women's health. We achieve this mission through empowerment,
providing and developing leadership, advocacy, education, expertise,
and mentoring. |
| Anesthesiology Interest Group (AIG) |

AIG was
established to provide resources for students and physicians
sharing a passion for anesthesiology. Goals of the AIG include
building a network of students and physicians who share an interest
in anesthesiology,
and increasing student, physician, and community awareness in

MSUCOM Business of Medicine
Interest Group is dedicated to helping medical students learn how
to become the best business and medical professionals possible.
Through seminars and outreach within the community, we hope to
provide students with the tools to make educated
decisions for life - both professional and personal.

| Christian Medical Association (CMA) |
|
CMA is a chapter of Christian Medical and Dental
Association - a group of Christians that study medicine
in the Colleges of Human and Osteopathic Medicine. Our mission
is to serve and glorify Jesus Christ within our lives in medicine. |
| Community Integrated Medicine (CIM) |
|
CIM is dedicated to providing
basic health screenings and preventive education to the medically
underserved. Members help to educate the public on health issues
and provide continual health care counseling and disease prevention
services that cross all ages, ethnic groups and gender. |
| Emergency Medicine Club (EMC) |
|
EMC is dedicated to the cultivation
and development of interests in emergency medicine. Activities and
experiences are intended to interest students who wish to explore
emergency medicine and those who practice primary
care with experience in urgent care settings. |
| Geriatric Interest Group (GIGS) |

GIGs is an organization formed
to provide students with the opportunity to explore the specialty
of Geriatrics and end of life care. The group offers activities
such as speakers, a journal club, a Gerontology elective, and volunteering
and shadowing. |
| Health Policy Interest Group (HPIG) |

HPIG promotes awareness of
legislative and health policy issues that will affect medical students
in the present and future. The goal is to inspire students to lobby
and promote legislation that will benefit the medical field and
our future patients. |
| International Health Project (IHP) |

IHP is a student organization
dedicated to promoting international medicine by presenting information
to students during noon-time talks and facilitating international
education experiences. IHP is associated with the USA-IHP and the
International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA). |
| Internal Medicine (IM) |

The Internal Medicine Club
is dedicated to providing its members with numerous practical,
clinical and informational events to supplement their academic
knowledge and aid in the quest of becoming excellent physicians,
regardless of the discipline they choose. |
| Islamic
Medical Student Association (IMSA) |

IMSA attempts to sensitize the MSUCOM
community to the unique needs of Muslim patients. We provide
a forum where Muslim medical students may discuss medical ethics
from an Islamic perspective. We are also a support group for incoming
Muslim students. |
| Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) |

We are dedicated to promoting
comprehensive reproductive health care for all people, including
reproductive health education, access to contraception, and safe
and legal abortions. It is the aim of this organization to
foster communication and promote understanding among medical professionals. |
| Military Medical Student Association (MMSA) |

MMSA's main goals include developing lines of communication among
military medical students across the country, serving as an information
source for those medical students, and promoting unity and esprit

| National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) |

NAAMA is a nonprofit, nonpolitical,
educational and charitable organization of medical professionals
and medical students of Arab descent. In addition to educational,
cultural and charitable events organized by the individual chapters,
NAAMA sponsors national and international medical conventions annually.

| Obstetrics and Gynecology Interest Group (OBIGS) |

OBIGS is a student organization dedicated to learning
about the profession of obstetrics and gynecology through a variety
of experiences. We coordinate monthly meetings with enthusiastic
speakers, a panel of residents and shadowing experiences in both
office and hospital settings. |
| Pediatric Interest Group (PIGS) |

PIGS is an organization for
students interested in pediatrics, children's issues, or is just
a kid at heart! We consist of students and faculty
from the Pediatrics Department. Our goal is to promote medical
student interest in pediatrics. |
| Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) |

PHR functions on the idea
that human rights are essential preconditions for the health and
well-being of all people. Our mission is to respond to poverty,
repression, discrimination and other social determinants related
to health care. |
| Radiology Interest Group (ORIG) |

ORIG’s main goal is
to gain additional experience, knowledge, and understanding of
radiology. In
addition to our primary goal, we will strive to provide job-shadowing
opportunities and give back through community service. |

(SNOPS) |

SNOPS
is an organization focused on the science and beauty of the human
brain. This club offers its members and the community an
opportunity to attend the "neurosciences lecture series",
to review journal articles, and shadow physicians in the area. |

(SOASM) |

SOASM is an organization that
was created for anyone interested in athletics and medicine. The
goal of this organization is to create a social environment to
bring people interested in sports medicine together. |

SOMA is a the student
affiliate organization of the American Osteopathic Association. Our
goal is to promote osteopathic ideals, unite osteopathic physicians,
and educate the future of the profession. |
| Student Osteopathic
Surgical Association (SOSA) |

SOSA stresses understanding
of osteopathic principles in relationship to disease in the practice
of surgery and provides a forum for discussion among students and
surgeons. Students will gain knowledge about various surgical specialties
through organized lectures and labs. |

SPAM’s mission is to
provide student parents a forum to discuss parenting and family
planning issues, develop a social network of parent mentors spanning
students to practicing physicians, and provide recreational and
educational opportunities for those with families. |

SNMA strives
to advocate for and meet the medical needs of historically underserved
populations. Our
protocols include but are not restricted to education, awareness,
community involvement, recruitment and retention. This organization
is the student affliliate organization of the National Medical
Association (NMA). |
| Technology and Osteopathic Medicine Association (TOMA) |

TOMA strives to educate,
incorporate and further the growth and use of both medical technologies
and that of consumer and business technologies which benefit osteopathic
medicine. |
| Undergraduate American Academy of Osteopathy (UAAO) |

The UAAO is dedicated to increasing
student awareness of osteopathic principles and practice. We provide
opportunities for students to learn OMM skills through workshops
and classes. These are designed to expose students to a variety
of OMM techniques. |
| Wilderness Medical Society (WMS) |

The WMS strives to combine a passion for outdoor adventure
with our profession. Whether rafting in West Virginia, medical adventure
racing, skiing in Canada, or listening to a search-and-rescue guest
speaker, we will continue to explore our professional boundaries. |
