Administrative responsibility to the college:

  • Represent the Associate Dean/Student Services at local, state and national meetings as needed.

  • Oversight for the Office of Intercultural Programs and Services

  • Advisor to the Admissions Committee

  • Continue to build and maintain connections to MSU at large

  • Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) committee member

  • Regular reporting to the Mich. Osteopathic Medical Advisory Board(MOMAB)

  • Assist with curriculum development and/or enhancement

  • Initiate and participate in various research opportunities

  • Serve as a liaison to S.E. Michigan

  • Individual and group counseling in S.E. Michigan

  • Continue to build and maintain relationships with the Detroit community

  • Continue to build and maintain campus and community network

  • Serve on the Scholarship, Diversity and Retention Committees

  • Provide assistance with some curriculum development and/or enhancement

Responsibility to Medical Students:

  • Personal and acdemic advising

  • Participate in national and local recruitment events

  • Outreach/Educational programming

  • Assist SNMA with planning of an annual premedical seminar

  • Premedical student newsletter, The ADMIT

  • Faculty mentor

  • Monitor student activity to determine counseling needs in southeast Michigan

  • Create environments that demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity

  • Create programs and opportunities to promote student support and well-being

  • Advisor to the Student National Medical Association (SNMA)

  • Resource for student scholarships within and outside of the college

  • Offer a library of resource materials for medical students

  • Small group instructor for:

    • OST 504-Doctor/Patient Relationships

    • OST 519-Medical Ethics, Policy and Law

    • OST 536-Behavioral Medicine

  • Course Coordinator for:

    - OST 590-Health Disparities
