The MSUCOM Office for Research encourages and supports all types of biomedical research at the college’s East Lansing campus, and throughout the Statewide Campus System of affiliated hospitals. The office facilitates research-related activities between the college and university central administration, as well as between MSUCOM and other MSU colleges. It provides assistance to college affiliated physicians and scientists working to develop successful research programs and assists MSUCOM students seeking research experience.
The office’s ongoing activities include: helping researchers identify extramural funding sources, providing pilot study funds for research likely to attract extramural funding, offering research development consultations, providing study design assistance in association with MSU’s Biomedical Data Coordinating Center, furnishing editorial assistance on grant proposals, fellowship proposals, journal submissions, and award applications, and helping faculty, staff, and MSUCOM students to obtain the training required to succeed at biomedical research.
