*        Donald Sefcik, DO, MBA, has been appointed as Senior Associate Dean for MSUCOM.  Dr. Sefcik will join the college on December 1.  In addition to his administrative role, he will hold the rank of Professor in the Departments of Family and Community Medicine, and Pharmacology and Toxicology. 

*        Members of the MSUCOM faculty and staff welcomed alumni, clinical faculty, and guests to the college exhibit during the American Osteopathic Association annual convention in San Diego, September 30 - October 3.  An alumni lunch was hosted on October 1, with John Goudreau, DO, PhD, MSUCOM Class of 1995 and Associate Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology, receiving the MSUCOM Alumnus of Year  Award, and Anthony Ognjan, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1983 and Clinical Associate Professor of Internal Medicine, receiving the Dean’s Award for Meritorious Contribution.  Monday evening the college co-hosted a reception with the Michigan Osteopathic Association, greeting affiliates and friends of the osteopathic profession.

*        Myral Robbins, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1976 and Clinical Professor of Family and Community Medicine, was awarded an Alumni Service Award from Michigan State University at the 2007 Grand Awards Ceremony on October 11.

*        Janis Yonker, Specialist in Family and Community Medicine, received the 2007 College of Human Medicine Distinguished Academic Staff Award for her work with the Geriatric Education Center, a collaborative program of the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Human Medicine.

*        MSUCOM was represented at the American College of Internists convention in Boston on October 10-14.  Staff greeted alumni at the college exhibit and hosted a reception for alumni and friends.
