* Ralph P. Crew, DO, Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology and Ophthalmology, has been elected as the President of the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology (AOBOO).  The AOBOO is responsible for the testing of osteopathic ophthalmologists and otolaryngologists leading to their certification.

* MSUCOM extends a special thank you to the following individuals who have agreed to serve as MOCF Ball Ambassadors:  Peter Ajluni, DO, AOA President-Elect and Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties; Max McKinney, DO, AOA Board of Trustees; Eugene Oliveri, DO, Special Assistant to the Dean and Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine; Dennis Paradis, MPH, Executive Director of the Michigan Osteopathic Association; Robert Snyder, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1979 and Clinical Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties.

* The MSUCOM Class of 2007 was the first class to utilize the new MSU Learning and Assessment Center for their clinical competency assessments.  Further information on the MSU Learning and Assessment Center can be found at www.lac.msu.edu.

* Thomas Stevenson, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1986 and Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine, and Mark Notman, PhD, Executive Director of Administrative Services and Associate Professor, have been appointed by Governor Granholm to the Health Information Technology Commission.  The primary purpose of the HIT Commission is to support regional and state health information exchange within Michigan.  Dr. Stevenson will serve as the co-chair of the Michigan Health Information Network Clinical Workgroup, and Dr. Notman will be serving as the chair of the Technical Workgroup.
