March 2006

  • The Deans of the four health profession colleges hosted a Dedication and Tour of the MSU Learning and Assessment Center (LAC) on Thursday, March 16.  The Center is a collaborative project of the Colleges of Human Medicine, Nursing, Osteopathic Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine.  For more information on the LAC, please call 517-353-4997 or go on-line to www.lac.msu.edu.
  • The Sixth Annual Seminar in the Sun was held March 4-12 in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic and attended by 80 alumni, friends, and family.  The week included a quality 20-hour CME program and a special dinner at Altos de Chavon hosted by Dean Strampel.
  • Dean Strampel delivered his State of the College to nearly 80 faculty on March 20, followed by annual reports from all college and university academic governance committees.
  • Representatives from MSUCOM attended the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Conference in Grapevine, Texas, March 22-24.  In addition to the college exhibit, the college hosted an alumni reception and dinner for alumni and ACOFP leadership.
  • Mary Hughes, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1982 and Professor of Internal Medicine, has been named Acting Chairperson for the Department of Internal Medicine.
  • Matt Leavitt, DO, MSUCOM Class of 1985, has been appointed as the Medical Advisor and Official Spokesperson for Lexington International, LLC, distributors and manufacturers of the HairMax Laser Comb.
