Lisa A. Vredevoogd, D.O., MSUCOM Class of 1993 and Assistant Professor,
has been named Chairperson of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative
Medicine.

Jed G. Magen, D.O., M.S., Associate Professor of Psychiatry, has been
named Chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry.
-
Faculty and staff from MSUCOM represented the college at the annual
American Osteopathic Association Convention in San Francisco, November
7-11. The Alumni Luncheon was attended by over 200 alumni and friends,
with Robert Snyder, D.O., Class of 1979, awarded the Dean’s Award
for Meritorious Service, and Robert Schilz, D.O., Class of 1988, was
presented with the Alumni Award.

MSUCOM and MOA hosted a joint reception for alumni, faculty, and friends,
on Monday, November 8, as part of the AOA Convention.

Steven J. Karageanes, D.O., FAOASM, MSUCOM Class of 1995, authored
a book entitled “Principles of Manual Sports Medicine”,
published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, October 2004.

On Wednesday, November 17, the college hosted a dinner for alumni
and friends of Oakland County at the It’s a Matter of Taste restaurant
in Commerce Township. Approximately 40 people attended and received
an update on the college from Dean Strampel.

William Anderson, D.O., Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Surgical
Specialties, authored a book entitled “Autobiographies of a Black
Couple of the Greatest Generation”, November 2004.
