  • MSUCOM hosted the 2004 Patenge Luncheon and Medal Ceremony on Friday, August 27. The Walter F. Patenge Medal of Public Service was awarded to four individuals: Peter Ajluni, D.O.; Lawrence Bass; Prince Holliday (posthumously); and William Johnston, D.O. (posthumously).
  • Orientation for the MSUCOM Class of 2008 was held the week of August 23, as the college welcomed 148 new osteopathic medical students to the profession.
  • The 2004 Convocation ceremony was held on August 27. Peter Ajluni, D.O., delivered the keynote address to the entering class, and each student received their white coat from faculty marshals representing all departments within MSUCOM and members of the Statewide Campus System Governing Board.
  • Ten new students were welcomed into the Osteopathic Medical Scholars Program on August 27.
  • The college was well represented at the MAOFP conference in Traverse City, August 5-7. The college exhibit was staffed throughout the conference and the college also hosted a reception for alumni and friends. More than 200 were in attendance.
  • MSUCOM extends a special thank you to sponsors of the Osteopathic Open golf outing. As of 8/31/04, sponsorships include:

  • The Michigan Osteopathic Medicine Advisory Board met on Friday, August 27. The board's strategic plan and subcommittee reports on Development, Finance, Government Relations, Minority Recruitment, and Research were reviewed and discussed.
