MSUCOM was ranked 15th in the nation for primary care by USNews & World
Report, and continues its ranking as the top primary care osteopathic
college in the country.
-
MSUCOM hosted a college Open House on Friday, April 23. Visitors from
around the state toured the college, attended seminars, received admission
information, and talked with current students about their medical school
experiences.
-
Sparrow Hospital has been approved as a base hospital training site for
the delivery of the college's clinical clerkship curriculum. The Class
of 2007 will be the first class with the option to select Sparrow.

Congratulations to the new Student Council officers for 2004-2005. Jeff
Fountain, President; Kerri Bewick, Vice President; Melissa Jacobs, Secretary;
and Sara Peace, Treasurer.

As part of its Diversity Education Program, the college sponsored a luncheon
program on April 13 for faculty, staff, and students entitled, "Working
with Transgendered Clients".

The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Congress of Delegates
elected the following Michigan members to their Board. Mark E. Sikorski,
D.O., FACOFP, MSUCOM Class of 1987 and Clinical Assistant Professor, Department
of Family and Community Medicine; and George T. Sawabini, D.O., FACOFP,
Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine.

All MSUCOM alumni were recently mailed a mini-CD, which contains a multimedia
presentation about the new Alumni Endowed Professorship. For those who
have not had a chance to view it, you can watch it online at http://www.com.msu.edu/alumni/aep.html.

MSU recognized the following faculty at the Academic Retirement Luncheon
on April 13. Martin J. Hogan, Ph.D., Dean's Office and Osteopathic Surgical
Specialties; Robert S. Holm, M.D., Pediatrics; John E. Wilson, Ph.D., Biochemistry
and Molecular Biology.
