The
College of Osteopathic Medicine held its annual Convocation and
White Coat Ceremony at the Wharton Center on August 27, 2004. The
ceremony is the official welcome to the new Class of 2008. First-year
students were introduced and presented with a white lab coat by
faculty members, as a symbol of their entry into the world of medicine.
This year’s entering class has expanded to include 149 students,
the largest in MSUCOM’s history.
The
convocation address was delivered by Peter Ajluni, D.O., one of
this year's recipients of the Walter F. Patenge
Medal of Public Service. Student Council
President Jeffrey Fountain and Alumni Association President Myral
R. Robbins, D.O., and Michigan Osteopathic Association President
Lewin Wyatt Jr., D.O., also addressed the students.
