Student Scholarship
Awards
The following awards
were presented by William M. Falls, PhD, Associate Dean/Student Services,
Professor, Anatomy/Radiology, and Chairperson, College Scholarship Committee.

student in good academic standing. Recipient is chosen based on a 500-word
essay outlining his/her experiences and who plan to recruit and retain
a diverse student population.

Given to an incoming
or first-year student in good academic standing. Preference shall be
given to Latino students who have demonstrated a background serving
the Latino community in the United States, who intend to pursue family
practice or are primary care oriented, who are Michigan residents,
and who intend to practice medicine in an underserved community.

Given to a third-
or fourth-year student who has expressed interest in primary care and
a genuine interest/curiosity about rural health care. The award provides
a stipend to attend the Annual Rural Health Conference.

Given for four years
to a first-year student who is a Michigan resident, is in good academic
standing and maintains a full course load, shows financial need, meets
the moral and ethical standards of the osteopathic profession and demonstrates

and to the Asian Indian community.

Given to students
who demonstrate a strong commitment to osteopathic medicine, are geographically
underrepresented in the college, intend to practice medicine in an
underserved area, and are ethnically under-represented in the college.
