SIMMS AWARDED MICHIGAN OSTEOPATHIC ASSOCIATION PRESIDENTIAL CITATION

Dearborn, Michigan— Michael Simms, D.O., of Allen Park, received a Presidential Citation from the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) in recognition of his service as chair of the MOA’s newly established International/Medical Mission Service Task Force.  He received the award at the MOA House of Delegates meeting on May 9, held in conjunction with the MOA’s 108TH Annual Postgraduate Convention and Scientific Seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. 

“I wanted to acknowledge and thank Dr. Simms for heading up the MOA’s newly established International/Medical Mission Service Task Force under my presidency.  He gave of his time and his leadership to a project that is near and dear to both of us,” said John Bodell, D.O., 2006\2007 MOA President.  “Dr. Simms and I have participated in ten medical missions in Haiti where his osteopathic care and commitment to providing that care are to be commended.  This MOA Presidential Citation is formal recognition of his service to the osteopathic profession and to helping others in need.”

“The practice of osteopathic medicine has been a tremendous privilege.  The Michigan Osteopathic Association has been extremely supportive of international medical programs and continues to exemplify how we can help others throughout the world,” said Dr. Simms.

Dr. Simms received his  Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1985.  He is a board certified family practitioner.  Currently, he practices in Allen Park.
