May 16, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE ROBBINS ELECTED TO MICHIGAN OSTEOPATHIC ASSOCIATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES Dearborn, Michigan— On May 9, 2007, Myral R. Robbins, D.O., FAAFP, FACOFP, of Kalamazoo, was elected to serve a two-year term as a trustee for the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) at its House of Delegates meeting. The election took place during the MOA House of Delegates meeting held in conjunction with the MOA 108th Annual Postgraduate Convention and Scientific Seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. “As a trustee I will channel my efforts to represent and advocate for the osteopathic physicians of Michigan to effectively and safely deliver the best quality health care to all Michigan citizens,” said Dr. Robbins. Dr. Robbins received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) in East Lansing, Michigan. She is board certified in Family Practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Currently, Dr. Robbins is a family medicine physician with the Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies (KCMS) and Program Director for the KCMS, osteopathic family medicine residency. She is also a member of the medical staff of Borgess Medical Center and Bronson Methodist Hospital. In addition to her new position as MOA trustee, Dr. Robbins is a past president and member of the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians, a member of the Southwest Osteopathic Association, a past president of the Macomb County Osteopathic Medical Association, past vice speaker of the Michigan Osteopathic Association and a past president and member of the board of directors of the MSUCOM Alumni Association. She is also an active member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Officers on the MOA Board of Trustees are Susan Sevensma, D.O., of Grand Rapids, president; Craig Magnatta, D.O., of Troy, president-elect; and John Bodell, D.O., of Trenton, immediate past president. Other members of the MOA Board of Trustees include Kurt Anderson, D.O., of Shepherd; Edward Canfield, D.O., of Sebewaing; Donna Moyer, D.O., of Carson City; Robert Piccinini, D.O., of Macomb; George Sawabini, D.O., of Dearborn; and Michael Weiss, D.O., of Troy. The Michigan Osteopathic Association represents more than 7,000 osteopathic physicians and students and promotes osteopathic medicine in Michigan by shaping the health care delivery system to better serve the community.
