May 16, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MAGNATTA ELECTED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF MICHIGAN OSTEOPATHIC ASSOCIATION Dearborn, Michigan—Craig L. Magnatta , D.O., of Lake Orion, was elected president-elect at the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) House of Delegates meeting on May 9 and will serve as president-elect for 2007-2008. The House of Delegates meeting was held in conjunction with the MOA’s 108th Annual Postgraduate Convention and Scientific Seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan. Dr. Magnatta, a board certified family practitioner, has been in the medical field for more than 27 years, with 18 years spent in his current private practice Meadowbrook Family MedCenters of Troy and Oxford. In addition, he is a member of the Department of Family Medicine at North Oakland Medical Center, POH Hospital and William Beaumont Hospital – Troy. “I am honored to have been elected to this position and I look forward to working with our new president Dr. Susan Sevensma and the MOA staff on various projects. One of my goals will be to encourage the MOA membership to be more active and opinionated about current health care legislation during this year as MOA president-elect,” said Dr. Magnatta. “ Dr. Magnatta received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). In addition to the MOA Board of Trustees, he is the current president of the Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, he is a past president and member of the Oakland County Osteopathic Association and a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and its Scholarship & Student Loan Committee. The Michigan Osteopathic Association represents more than 7,000 osteopathic physicians and students and promotes osteopathic medicine in Michigan by shaping the health care delivery system to better serve the community.
