MSU Activist Honored With Award

March 5, 2003

EAST LANSING - Jon Lacey, director of the MSU AIDS Education Project, will receive a Prism Award from the Lansing Association for Human Rights at ceremonies on Friday, March 7, 2003. Mr. Lacey will be honored with the Ally Award for his support to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. He is the founding pastor of Ecclesia, an area church that openly welcomes lesbians and gays.

Mr. Lacey noted in the Lansing State Journal (March 3, 2003), "Straight people need to support lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders to help us all realize our potential as human beings and as children of God."

The awards ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. at East Lansing's Hannah Community Center, located at 819 Abbott Road.
