Four
members of the College of Osteopathic Medicine's Class of 2004 received more
than a new degree on Graduation Day. They also received commission in the United
States Military.
The four graduates who earned commissions were Danielle Cermak, D.O. (Air
Force), Delbert Clark, D.O. (Navy), Grant Kidd, D.O., (Navy) and Khang Hy D.
Nguyen, D.O. (Air Force).
The new officers were recognized a special ceremony before the Hooding and
Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 6. Rear Admiral Joyce Johnson, D.O.,
M.A., who was MSUCOM's commencement speaker, was on hand to swear them in.
Dr. Johnson spent her career in the U.S. Coast Guard and recently retired as
the Guard's chief medical officer. She graduated from MSUCOM in 1980.
