LANSING - The College of Osteopathic Medicine hosted Ms. Amina Khalil on Thursday,
March 13, 2003, as part of MSUCOM's ongoing Diversity Education
Series. Ms. Khalil is Religious Advisor and Past Principal of the Greater
Lansing Islamic School. Her presentation was titled "Islam, Medicine and
Muslim Patients."
Ms. Khalil spoke about many of core beliefs Muslims and certain tradition
and practices that their treatment as patients.She presented examples and suggestionsfor
doctors to recognize when dealing with Muslim patients and Islamic beliefs
can influence decisions
about health care.
The MSUCOM Diversity Education Series is a monthly presentation on topics
related to diversity in the community and the field of medicine.
