Outpatient Physical Therapy
Services The Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic at MSU offers patients the opportunity to increase functional capacity and decrease pain. We treat the whole body, promoting balance, symmetry and control. Physical Therapy can be used to treat a variety of Physical problems resulting from trauma, stroke, disease, neurological impairment, auto or work accidents, surgery, sports injury, musculoskeletal impairments, spinal cord injury, brain injury and more. Our therapy team works with out physician to determine e a treatment plan that is designed to optimize your outcome. Physical Therapy may include hands on (manual) treatment to maximize motion, flexibility, strength and stabilization. Exercise and gait training may also be used. Modalities, such as hot packs and cold packs, ultrasound, TENS units, iontophoreses, and more are also options for treatment. Facilities We provide our patients with an open, upbeat environment utilizing individual hands on therapy; a variety of new exercise equipment, education, and instruction in exercise methods for continued at home recovery. We also offer convenient hours and extended days. In addition to this Medicare, Blue Shield, Blue Care Network, and PMP recognize us as a certified outpatient rehabilitation facility. Sports Medicine The Sports Medicine Physical Therapy staff specializes in caring for most musculoskeletal injuries, especially the unique injuries that occur in athletics.
Sports Medicine Physical Therapy includes 1. Post surgical recovery of replacements and repairs to the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle. 2. Muscle strains, tendon injuries, overuse injuries and osteoarthritis 3. Exercise and re-training for competitive athletes and anyone who is physically active. Our staff works closely with Orthopedic Surgeons and Sports Medicine Physicians to communicate on patient needs and progress.

Our Physical Therapy Staff Includes 3-4 Licensed Physical Therapists with masters level training
2 Certified Athletic Trainers with Bachelors level training and certification
2-3 Physical Therapy assistants with college level training in hands on therapy techniques.
Our Team MSU Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic has a dynamic and well-trained staff to meet patient’s needs. The psychology staff is part of an interdisciplinary team of specialists at the clinic, including Physiatrists (physician’s board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Speech/Language Pathologists. Our staff is also a part of the MSU Health Team, enabling communication and referral options with a large variety of health care specialists.
