The AOA is the national organization for the advancement of of osteopathic medicine in the United States, and the professional association for over 48,000 physicians. The AOA accredits the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, osteopathic internship and residency programs, and healthcare facilities.
American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine
The primary goal of the AAEM is to serve physicians who diagnose and treat patients with disorders of muscle and nerve, extend the knowledge of electrodiagnostic medicine, and improve the quality of patient care. This will be accomplished through programs in education, research, and quality assurance.
Association of Academic Physiatrists
The mission of the Association of Academic Physiatrists is to promote excellence in the education, research, and the practice of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation within the academic arena.
The National Lymphedema Network (NLN) is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Saskia R.J. Thiadens, R.N. to provide education and guidance to lymphedema patients, health care professionals and the general public by disseminating information on the prevention and management of primary and secondary lymphedema. The NLN is supported by tax-deductible donations and is a driving force behind the movement in the U.S. to standardize quality treatment for lymphedema patients nationwide. In addition, the NLN supports research into the causes and possible alternative treatments for this often incapacitating, long-neglected condition.
American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
The American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is the national medical society representing more than 6,700 physicians who are specialists in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. They are called physiatrists (fizz ee at' trists).
American Osteopathic Association of Sports Medicine
The American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine is dedicated to the art and science of sports medicine, emphasizing osteopathic principles in the practice of comprehensive health care.
Michigan Osteopathic Association
The mission of the Michigan Osteopathic Association (MOA) is to advance the science and art of osteopathic medicine, surgery, education and research.
