Blake McGhee, Amanda Ford, Kristin
Fetterley and Edmund Tillett explore the skeleton in the anatomy lab.
For the next two weeks, some of the students in Fee Hall, will be a little
younger than usual.
That's because the OsteoCHAMPS are back. The summer program brings high school
students from around the state to the MSU campus for a first hand look at the
osteopathic profession.
Students live on campus for two weeks and get a taste of college life with
classes in basic sciences, anatomy, chemistry, math and writing. They also
receive advice on studying and test taking and general survival skills for
college students. Through their interaction with MSUCOM faculty and advisors,
they learn how to be better students and get practical advice about college
and career choices.
This is the fourth year of the OsteoCHAMPS program, which has given dozens
of high school juniors and seniors a chance explore osteopathic medicine and
learn about the opportunities it might hold for them. The program continues
through July 25.
