The list is by no means comprehensive, but it will provide an introduction to the materials that are available on-line. A cooperative venture between Stanford University, the Center for Non-Violent Social Change and the King Estate, this preeminent site is an effort to assemble and disseminate historical information on Dr. King and the movements in which he participated. Very comprehensive. Established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the King Center is an official memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It offers on-line access to exhibits and archives of the King legacy. A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Housed in the B. Davis Schwartz Memorial Library, Long Island University, this site offers a good timeline and synopsis of King's involvement in the Civil Rights Movement. The timeline is hyperlinked to some of King's pivotal speeches and addresses. Media Beat Essay, "The King You Won't See on TV" A scholarly paper on King's class politics. Housed in the infamous Lorraine Hotel where King was shot, this museum claims to have the "first and only comprehensive overview of the Civil Rights Movement in exhibit form."
