Sponsored by the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education.

Registration for 2008 will be accepted for any manual medicine course and are taken on a first come, first served basis. Phone registration will not be accepted, however, you can now register on-line with a credit card and submit directly to the CME Office.

Early bird tuition must be paid in full 30 days prior to the course.  Registration not paid in full by the 30 day deadline will be required to pay the full tuition rate.

Checks, credit cards, money orders, or cashier checks are accepted. Expenses incurred by participants due to course cancellations will not be the responsibility of the MSUCOM Office of Continuing Medical Education. Do no confirm travel arrangements without a course registration confirmation.  

A confirming letter with a receipt for payment will be mailed, time permitting.

Cancellations received in writing no less than 14 business days before the start of a class will result in a refund, minus $150. Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable if these guidelines are not followed. No longer will cancellations be received over the telephone.  All cancellations must be in writing. 

The CME office is no longer able to provide the service of making your hotel reservations due to the credit card industry security standards.  All housing reservations will be the responsibility of the participant. 

Housing reservations must be made at least 30 days prior to the date of the course. Reservations are not held past 6:00 p.m. without guaranteed payment. Specify a major credit card number and expiration date to ensure a reservation past 6:00 p.m. A confirmation will be sent from the hotel, time permitting.

The East Lansing Marriott at University Place is located in downtown East Lansing on the corner of M.A.C. Ave., and Albert Street. The Towne Place Suites is located on Hannah Blvd. at Hagadorn Road. Shuttle service is available to and from the airport by calling the Marriott directly. There is no shuttle service to and from the airport by the Towne Place Suites. Taxis serve between Towne Place Suites and Lansing Capital City Airport. For those who drive, a gated parking ramp is located underneath the Marriott (parking is your responsibility) and open parking at Towne Place Suites (free).

The Windmill Inn Suites is the Tucson, AZ location.  The hotel is located at 4250 N. Campbell Ave.  There is no shuttle service to and from the airport by the Windmill Inn but arrangements can be made by contacting Arizona Stagecoach at the kiosk of the Tucson Airport upon arrival. 

The manual medicine courses are restricted to licensed D.O.s, M.D.s, P.T.s and D.D.S.s. Due to limited enrollment in the courses and their popularity, we reserve the right to establish strict registration policies. Courses are designed to build upon each other. Therefore, attendance is allowed only to those who have had the prerequisite training. There will no longer be any exceptions to the policy.  It is required that participants attend the entire course.  Absolutely no walk-ins allowed.  Preregistration is required. 

Principles of Manual Medicine is designed for P.T.s, D.O.s, and M.D.s only who have not had any or not had recent manual medicine clinical exposure. All other health professions are excluded from attending our manual medicine programs at this time. Principles of Manual Medicine is a prerequisite course for ALL other postgraduate manual medicine courses offered by the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.  However, the CME Office does offer a Manual Medicine Pretest that, if passed with an 80% or above, will allow you to bypass the Principles of Manual Medicine course.

These CME programs do not purport to empower, or lead to the premise that the skills learned in the programs will empower the participant to practice osteopathic medicine or osteopathic manipulation in any form unless the participant has completed formal osteopathic medical education and received a license to practice osteopathic medicine from an appropriate licensing board.

Electronic Devices: pagers and cellular telephones are not allowed in the courses. Videotaping is strictly prohibited.

Accreditation Statements: The manual medicine courses are approved by Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for the designated hours of AOA Category IA credit.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of the stated number of hours in Category I credit toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Upon completion of the course a certificate of attendance is provided and will reflect hours of attendance.

Accommodations for persons with disabilities may be requested by calling the Office of Continuing Medical Education at least 30 days prior to the first day of class to ensure sufficient time to make arrangements. Requests received after this date will be met when possible.
