Robert Brengel, Class of '78 - In 2007, he became the chief of staff at Lappeer Regional Medical Center. (April 2008)

Robert Johnson, Class of '78 - "After retiring from the U.S. Army in 2002, I worked in the Civil Service for the U.S. Air Force until December 2007 when my wife, Mary, and I moved to San Antonio, TX. I now work for the VA at the Frank Tejeda Outpatient Clinic in primary care. I look forward to catching up with '78 class colleagues at Silverfest this year." (April 2008)

Paul Ehrmann, Class of '80, was features on WWJAM Radio-950 on March 1 in tis weekly segment named "Making a Difference." Ehrmann talked about his work to combat childhood obesity including his Children's Health Initiative Program (March 2008)

Kurt Barrett, Class of '74, served as a participant and consultant in the Real-World Considerations in GERD Management National Advisory Board Meeting held in March. (March 2008)

Bernadette Gendernalik, Class of '86, was elected Secretary/Treasurer for the Medical Staff at Mount Clemens Regional Mecical Center. (March 2008)

Randall DeArment, Class of '75, was appointed to the Medical Care Advisory Council by MOA President Susan Sevensman. (March 2008)

Robert Piccinini, Class of '92, was appointed Michigan Osteopathic Association Trustee of Macomb as emergency coordinator for the MOA. (March 2008)

Robert Stomel, Class of '80, was nominated to the American Osteopathic Association Board of Directors by the Michigan Osteopathic Association Boad. (March 2008)

Karlin E. Sevensma, Class of '97, was installed as President-elect for Jenison. (January 2008)

Dorothy Robin Pedtke, Class of '99, was installed as president of the Kent County Osteopathic Association. (January 2008)

Carl Pesta Class of 1996, was featured in an article title "Out of Time But In Shape" which focused on various physicians' methods and motivations for staying in fit while keeping up with the demains of medical practice. (January 2008)

Thomas J. Maatman, Class of 1979, was cited in an article on the use of no-needle anethetic for vasectomies. (January 2008)

Rosemaury J. Havey, Class of 1974, passed away on Feb. 11, 2008

Walter J. Hoppe, Class of 1975 passed away on December 21, 2007

Timothy Burandt, Class of 1982 and John Everett, Class of 1987, were both quoted in a December Petoskey News Review article on Medicare reimbursement cuts. Sen. Stabenow had cited a letter from Dr. Burandt in an argument before Congress last year to undo reimbursement cutbacks.

Sanford Vieder, Class of 1988, is filling the role of part-time, interim chief medical officer at Botsford Hospital, in addition to his current roles as president of the medical staff and an emergency room physician.

Christopher Ingraham, Class of 2004 joins Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Anthony Ognjan, Class of 1983, was nominated by AOA President Peter Ajluni to represent the osteopathic medical profession on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Dr. Ognjan also represented the Michigan Osteopathic Association at a joint press conference held on October 30 with the Michigan Department of Community Health to educate the public about preventing infections of Methiciliin Resistant Staph Aureaus.

Jacqueline Fitzgerald, Class of 1985, received a Michigan Primary Care Association Distinguished Service Award for her work in organizing the Amish Health Fair. In addition to rasing cultural awareness of the Amish community, the event raised funds to assist with treatment costs for an Amish patient who was pregnant and diagnosed with metastaic breast cancer.

Jodi S. Flanders, Class of 1982, was recognized by her patients with the summer 2007 “HealthPlus of Michigan Great Doctors” award for her contributions to the community. Every quarter, HealthPlus of Michigan accepts nominations for the award. Doctors are chosen for their outstanding service, extraordinary care and dedication to their patients.

Susan Sevensma, Class of 1982, was appointed by AOA President Peter B. Ajluni to serve on the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathi College Accreditation.

R. Taylor Scott, Class of 1994, was appointed by Gov. Granholm to the Michigan Health Information Technology Commission representing doctors of osteopathic medicine and surgery for a term commencing August 17 2007 and expiring August 3, 2011.

Anthony Ognjan, Class of 1983, wrote an opinion piece in favor of smoke-free restaurants that was published in The Detroit Free Press. (August 5, 2007)

Carol Monson, Class of 1979, presented the keynote address at a banquet during the Indiana Osteopathic Association 110th Annual Convention in Merrillville, IN. (May 4, 2007)

Jennifer Giordana, Class of 2003, was elected president-elect of the Resident Physicians Section of the Michigan Psychiatric Society in May of 2007.
