Michigan Physician Named Treasurer
of National Organization Dedicated to Public Protection
DALLAS – Susan M. Rose, D.O., a family physician of Brighton, Mich.,
was elected treasurer of the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) board
of directors at the FSMB House of Delegates annual business meeting May 14.
The FSMB is a national organization representing the 70 state medical boards
of the United States and its territories. The primary mission of state medical
boards is to protect health care consumers through proper licensing and regulation
of physicians in their state. All state medical boards belong to the FSMB,
a national non-profit organization whose primary mission is to improve the
quality, safety and integrity of medical care by supporting state medical boards
in the protection of the public.
Dr. Rose has served on the FSMB board of directors since 2003 and also serves
as president of the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners. She was
appointed by the governor to the Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and
Surgery. Dr. Rose received a bachelors degree in Nursing from the University
of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1972 and her medical degree from the Michigan State
University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979.
