After 27 years in the medical field,
Craig Magnatta, a ’78 graduate of MSUCOM, was ready to take on another challenge-
becoming the president for the Michigan Osteopathic Family Practice (MAOFP). “My
goals remain similar to what they have been in the past. I would like to
continue efforts in building membership and providing benefits to members
of the group,” he said.
Magnatta grew up in Royal Oak and attended the University
of Michigan for his undergraduate program. He then went to Wayne State University
for one year of graduate school and then attended Michigan State College
of Osteopathic Medicine. His internship was completed at Michigan Osteopathic
Medical Center in Detroit and practiced for his first seven years at the
Detroit Satellite Clinic.
“I’ve been with my practice for 18 years.
Working in Troy and Oxford,” said Magnatta. “For the duration
of that time, I have also been in the Pontiac area and been very active
with the POH Hospital. I have had the opportunity to work with and learn
from some very talented people over the years.”
Magnatta has been on the MAOFP
board for six years representing Oakland County and has been active on
the education, membership and government affairs committees. “At a stakeholders meeting a few
months back I was nominated and elected to be the next president of MAOFP.
I happily accepted the position and I look forward to participating in the
already successful of MAOFP,” he said.
