MSUCOM Alumnus Drives to New York to Assist in Disaster Relief September 25, 2001
After hearing news of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, MSUCOM alumnus Steven Karageanes D.O. (Class of 1995) immediately drove to New York from Michigan to join medical volunteers providing care to survivors and rescue workers. Dr. Karageanes' story has been published in The Macomb Daily and will be mentioned in the next Communique. In praising Dr. Karageanes' efforts, MSUCOM Dean Allen Jacobs told him, "Steve, congratulations on your courage and commitment. You bring honor to your profession and to your alma mater. I congratulate you on your proactive (but not unexpected) approach to this great American tragedy. God bless you and your family." by Krister Friday
