AUSTIN – Howard H. Galarneau, D.O., a San Antonio family physician, has been honored by his peers for his 10 years of service in the House of Delegates of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA).

An honorary certificate was presented March 31 during the 62nd Annual Meeting of the TOMA House of Delegates, held at the Marriott Austin North in Round Rock.

In his 10 years of service in the House of Delegates, the primary governance body of TOMA, Dr. Galarneau has actively participated in the discussion and debate of policy and administrative resolutions considered by that body. These resolutions determine the advocacy by the association for the betterment of quality health care, access to medical care, and the safety of the public seeking osteopathic medical services for citizens across the State of Texas. His participation has helped determine the direction of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association and its advocacy for the health care of all Texans.

Certified in Family Practice, Dr. Galarneau maintains a family practice in San Antonio. A long-time TOMA member, he has served on numerous committees throughout the years. He is also an active member of his divisional society, TOMA District 17.

Dr. Galarneau earned his D.O. degree in 1980 from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan.

The mission of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association is: to promote health care excellence for the people of Texas; advance the philosophy and principles of osteopathic medicine; and to loyally embrace the family of the osteopathic profession and serve their unique needs.
