Michigan State University
College of Osteopathic Medicine
Prerequisite Requirements
The faculty of the college establishes prerequisite requirements for MSUCOM. They are meant to ensure that every entering student has achieved a minimum level of education in key areas. We reserve the right to alter these requirements to correspond with curricular changes.
To satisfy the requirements, students must achieve a passing grade in the required number of credit hours for each subject area. We consider 2.0 to be the minimum passing grade.
We strongly encourage all students to complete additional course work in the basic sciences. Specifically, we recommend 16 to 20 semester hours in senior level biological sciences such as anatomy, physiology, immunology, and neurobiology.
