Founded in 1985, the Detroit
Medical Center (DMC) includes nine hospitals in its system,
including two Level I trauma centers, with more than 2,000
beds and 3,000 affiliated physicians. Two of these hospitals – Harper
University Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Michigan – have
been ranked in the top 30 nationally by U.S.News & World
Report. Located in the heart of downtown, the setting provides
an experience for osteopathic medical students that includes
a sophisticated urban medical milieu, exposure to a wide
variety of cultures, and opportunities for effective voluntarism.
Nearby, excellent housing and shopping are mixed with the
best of art and culture.
