Welcome to Academic Support

We seek to provide the tools and skills necessary to optimize learning for all students.  We recognize that each student is a unique blend of their personality type, learning style, interests, motivations, and life circumstances, which all come together to create a highly individual set of strengths and challenges. Because of this, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning or studying. Furthermore, we believe that self-awareness, regarding these factors, plays a vital role in self-efficacy and accomplishing one’s goals. Lastly, we recognize that everyone needs help and support from time-to-time, and there is no shame in recognizing one’s limitations and seeking assistance when necessary.

Study Buddies (SB) is a student organization focused on service to the MSUCOM student community. The group is guided by the principle“we’re all in this together,” which emphasizes: (1) Cooperation over competition among colleagues and (2) Recognition of each individual’s unique set of strengths and weaknesses. SB’s mission is to facilitate and promote peer-to-peer teaching and cooperative group learning. Study Buddies is unique in that all COM students are automatically members. In addition, all MSUCHM students are also members. SB encourages broad-based participation by all members.
